101-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck By Car Driven By 91-Year-Old on Burbank Street [UPDATED]

He made it to his 101st birthday, but his life ended when he was walking across the street. The elderly pedestrian was fatally struck Tuesday night by a vehicle in Burbank.

The incident took place at around 8:15 p.m. on Olive Avenue between Sparks Street and Beachwood Drive, said Burbank police Sgt. Claudio Losacco, according to City News Service.

The driver who struck the man stopped at the scene, and was not arrested or cited.

Police in Burbank are working to determine where the pedestrian was when he was hit; it was not immediately known if the man, whose identity is being withheld, was at a corner or mid-block when he was struck.

UPDATE 10:10 AM We've learned that the victim was Otto Jensen of Burbank, and that he was jaywalking at the time of the accident. The driver, Mary Beaumont, also of Burbank, is 91 years old.
