New Vaccine Super-Site Opens At Cal Poly Pomona

A new mass vaccination site opened Saturday at Cal Poly Pomona.
The indoor, walk-through location is the collaboration of a group of healthcare organizations, including Kaiser Permanente.
Dr. Michael E. Morris, the physician director for Kaiser's Southern California COVID-19 vaccination program, said the new site is accessible by public transportation to residents from vulnerable communities in eastern L.A. County and the western Inland Empire.
“There's a bus stop ... adjacent to the site where the vaccines are being given,” he said.

Vaccines at the Cal Poly Pomona site are sourced exclusively from the state.
“We were successful in getting the 42,000 doses,” he said, but those doses “will not last a very long time, so we need more.”
The Cal Poly Pomona site has the capacity to vaccinate up to 10,000 people a day, depending on vaccine supply.
