 6th Annual Bulldog Beauty Contest & Haute Dog Pageants
The prettiest bulldogs vie for the title of top dog in a variety of categories this morning for the 6th Annual Bulldog Beauty Contest put on by Haute Dogs.  It's happening between 9 a.m. (sign-in) and Noon (awards announced) at the Marketplace Long Beach (between Trader Joe's, CPK and Claim Jumper).  You'll see the following breeds/categories: Senior Dogs @ 10:00; English Bulldogs @ 10:15; French Bulldogs @ 11:15; Pugs @ 11:45 (NOTE: times are approximate).  Front-row seating, $5, Free to spectate. 
Food Truck Block Party @ Silver Lake Art Craft & Vintage
As a bonus feature of the Silver Lake Art Craft & Vintage Fela Market event today, a mini Food Truck block party will be set up for your shopping and noshing pleasure.  Scheduled to be there today are: Yum Yum Bowls - 9:30; Buttermilk Truck - 10:00 (leaving 1:30 - being replaced by Asian Soul Kitchen); Phamish - 10:00; Louks To Go - 11:00; LA BBQ Guy - 11:15; Dels - 12:00. Full Moon Adventure in Franklin Canyon
Enjoy an evening hike at Franklin Canyon. They describe their Full Moon Adventure: "Follow that adventurer’s spirit and step into the night. Look and Listen for wildlife while enjoying a view of the stars on this moderately strenuous hike with Volunteer Naturalist Michael. All ages welcome."  It's a 2-hour activity, and it starts at 7 p.m. Free. 
Twelfth Night @ Hollywood Forever
The folks of Chalk Rep are closing out a run of Twelfth Night at Hollywood Forever Cemetery (in the Masonic Lodge) tonight at 7 p.m..  See Shakepeare's classic comedy of love and mistaken identity with an indie rock flair and a high fashion sensibility. Chalk Rep's production of Twelfth Night infuses a fresh contemporary energy while celebrating a literary masterpiece.  Tickets.
