8th Annual Taste of Santa Monica
Get a bite of the food scene in Santa Monica at this annual event held at the historic Pier. The Taste of Santa Monica brings together dozens of area eateries. Admission is $10, which gets you access to live music, giveaways, a chance to win tickets to see Cirque du Soleil's Kooza, and more. Of course, the food costs extra--this year they're selling Taste Bucks, which you can use to enjoy the wonderful food and purchase beverages at the many wine booths, beer gardens and bar.

Festival of Philippine Arts and Culture
The Festival of Philippine Arts and Culture is the anchor program of FilAm ARTS. It is an annual series of multi-disciplinary arts events that takes place in the County of Los Angeles from poetry readings, concerts, to visual arts exhibits culminating in a two-day festival weekend--and today is the second (and last) day of said fest. A full schedule is available here detailing what you'll find down at San Pedro's Point Fermin Park. Admission is $7, and there's stuff to do there all day.

Fresh Days Dance Event at LA State Historic Park
From 11 a.m. until sunset (think 8ish) this free non-profit event aims to gather participants in the city's dance and movement scene to unite as one to. Fresh Days is a way to show that if those involved in the scene and their supporters can "come out in large numbers during daylight hours to picnic, dance & play, [they] might just succeed in creating a much needed positive image for [them]selves that can further [their] movement over coming years." It's on, today at Los Angeles State Historic Park in DTLA.

Asian Hip-Hop Summit's Acoustic Night
The Asian Hip-Hop Summit is a touring event based in Los Angeles that was founded by Kublai Kwon, an English Ph.D. student-turned-promoter in order to give Asian artists the chance to show off their skills and be part of the hip hop scene. Tonight there's an acoustic performance at 9 p.m. at the 2nd St. Jazz Cafe in Little Tokyo, featuring Esna Yoon, Olivia Thai, Jude Hernandez, and Azura Luna.
