Beach Dazed with FMLY and The Tape
Beach Dazed is FMLY's twelve hour celebration of Los Angeles' music and arts community with free ice cream from the Ice Cream Man, Korean BBQ by the Calbi truck, two stages, a slip 'n' slides, water balloon fights, a pool, slide, local artists, great food, and a ton more @Out of Asia (3249 S. La Cienega Blvd). There's two stages of music and endless day and nighttime activities with RJD2, Voxtrot, Busdriver, Best Coast, [Post-foetus], Alligators, DJDT, Haim, Pizza!, 'REALLY, very', Railcars, Evan Voytas, Your Majesty performing an all 8bit DJ set, Riplee, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and guest DJs! Tickets are $30 via InTicketing, and for every ticket bought a tree is planted; door price is $40. At the door discount: for all Los Angeles students with a valid ID, tickets will be sold for $20.

Free Outdoor Screenings: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory & Sixteen Candles
Two movies screen outdoors tonight in Old Pasadena as part of their ongoing summertime movie fest. At 8:30pm in the One Colorado Courtyard (41 Hugus Alley) it's the sweet & 70s styled Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, or, you can get your brat pack on at 9:00pm on the Rooftop of the Schoolhouse Parking Garage (33 E. Green Street) with Sixteen Candles.

A Party for Pippi Longstocking's Birthday
Yes, the little red-headed scamp is having a birthday, and the Culver City Julian Dixon Library is celebrating--and everybody is invited. Today, beginning at 5:00 pm, the Culver City Friends of the Library will throw a party and screen The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking. Admission to the event and movie are free. There will be games and prizes, and a raffle of a Play Station 2 and CD player donated by Sony Entertainment corporation. Pizza, drinks and desserts will be on sale, as well as used children’s books and Pippi merchandise, and the Culver City Fire Department will be there to serve popcorn.

Backhausdance Deconstructed
Backhausdance Deconstructed is an informal company concert in an intimate setting hosted by Jennifer Backhaus with guest moderators Cyrus Parker-Jeannette and Dale Merrill. The evening explores a work from the Backhausdance repertory and gives the audience a glimpse at the choreographic process and methods used to create some of Backhausdance's signature works. Students participating in the Summer Intensive will be featured in Deconstructed, as the cast of a premiere piece choreographed specifically for the Summer Intensive students by Jennifer Backhaus and company members. $15 General Admision. 7:30pm @ the Waltmar Theatre, Chapman University.
