    Topline:

Starting Friday, couples getting married at the Old Orange County Courthouse in Santa Ana can livestream their wedding ceremony to family and friends worldwide.

How will it work: Once a couple completes the marriage license process, they can choose to take advantage of the free livestream service. A Zoom password link can then be shared with the couple's virtual guests.

"Our live stream service represents a milestone in enhancing couples’ wedding day," said Clerk-Recorder Hugh Nguyen. "By overcoming physical barriers, we help couples to unite with their cherished guests, regardless of distance, fostering a truly inclusive celebration of love in real time."

Virtual marriage services: Nguyen said the office also offers virtual marriage services on an emergency basis for those who are unable to come in person, such as military personnel stationed abroad or those who are sick. The OC Clerk-Recorder’s Office began offering the service during the pandemic to reduce crowds. To tap the service, call (714) 834-2500.
