Topline:
The Michelin Guide added six more Los Angeles eateries to its prestigious list this week.
Why it matters: Los Angeles has 134 “Selected Eateries” on the Michelin Guide, but there are 18 restaurants with one star and only five restaurants with two stars. Making the list of recommended restaurants can be a game changer for those businesses, and it might mean getting a table could get a little harder.
What's new to the list and Michelin’s tips:
- Barra Santos, Cypress Park: The guide said the whole branzino is an “absolute must.”
- Danbi, Koreatown: Michelin recommended the mushroom bibimbap with fresh veggies.
- Grá, Echo Park: The stracciatella and prosciutto with basil and a drizzle of coffee-infused honey was a favorite for the publication.
- Leopardo, Mid City: The Michelin guide suggests you go with the red flint waffles softened by bordier butter and follow with the aged Ossetra caviar with country bacon salt.
- Mae Malai Thai House of Noodles, Hollywood: The guide recommends their specialty, boat noodles in a thick, spicy broth of your choice.
- Stella, West Hollywood: Su Filindeu, the pasta dish with hand stretched noodles, or any menu item cooked over live fire, are musts to try according to the guide.
What’s next: Michelin's complete guide to California dining will be announced next month, including who will nab a star.
