The Federal Emergency Management Agency has extended the deadline for homeowners, renters and businesses affected by the Southern California wildfires earlier this year to apply for federal funds earmarked for disaster relief. The new deadline is Monday, March 31.
Who can benefit: Funds from FEMA can be used toward home repairs and costs incurred during the emergency for childcare and transport.
How to apply:
For individuals:
- The fastest way is online at DisasterAssistance.gov.
- Through the FEMA App.
- Calling the FEMA helpline at (800) 621-3362 from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week. Interpreters are available.
- Visiting a Disaster Recovery Center:

For businesses, seeking Small Business Administration low-interest disaster loan:
