  • Local chain offers free appliances, groceries
A green and gray storefront with the word Curaçao over the entrance.
Department chain Curaçao is offering free appliances and grocery delivery to eligible customers who are experiencing financial hardship or do not want to leave home while immigration enforcement is ongoing.

    Topline:

The popular local department store Curaçao is launching a program to help families in need get groceries, appliances and more.

Why now: In light of ICE’s presence in Los Angeles, some families are scared to leave their homes for basic necessities. Curaçao largely serves Latino immigrant communities in Southern California, many of whom primarily speak Spanish.

What assistance is being provided: Curaçao is offering delivering groceries to peoples homes free of charge. They’re also providing household items such as microwaves, compact refrigerators, TVs and small appliances.

How to apply: Submit an application through Curaçao's website here.
