        What to expect: A cloudy morning with warm temperatures this afternoon, but not as hot as it has been, with a cooldown expected to carry into the weekend.

        Forecast details: We're looking at highs mostly in the 70s for the coast, and mid 80s for inland and valley areas. Coachella Valley will be under 100 degrees — finally.

        Starting Thursday, temperatures will begin to dip as we head into a cooler weekend.

        At L.A. County beaches, expect to see highs from 69 to 74 degrees, whereas in Orange County, coastal areas will see highs of up to 78 degrees.

        Meanwhile, L.A. County valleys and the Inland Empire will see temperatures mostly in the mid to upper 80s, with the warmest areas hitting 87 degrees. And Coachella Valley is expected to finally step away from the triple digits, with a high of 94 degrees.

        It will also be windy around Palm Springs and Yucca Valley, with gusts of between 40 and 50 mph.
