    This section of the San Bernardino and Angeles National Forests were closed due to the Vista Fire in July.

    Topline:

    Good news for anyone hoping to get up to Mount Baldy this summer: The area is now fully open to visitors again. Officials had closed many roads and trails around Mount Baldy Village to visitors due to the Vista Fire last month. At the time, they said the area would be closed until October.

    The closure areas: The closure included, but was not limited to, roads in the following areas:

    • Mt. Baldy Rest Area Parking
    • Icehouse Day Parking
    • Mt Baldy Station
    • Mt Baldy Village

    The backstory: The Vista Fire, which started July 7, burned through over 2,900 acres and is all but contained as of early August.
