All LA Metro Bus And Rail Lines Are Free To Ride Late Night Christmas Eve And New Year's Eve

If you're out late on a present run Monday night or reveling in the new year next week, you have a potentially free option to get home, courtesy of Los Angeles Metro.
Metro's train and bus lines will be free to ride on both Christmas and New Year's eves from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., the agency announced.

All Metro stations with latched gates will be unlatched during the free ride period. The rail system will also run 24 hours on New Year's Eve and provide enhanced service to the Rose Parade on Jan. 1, Metro officials said.
In other transit news, Metro advised that some of its bus lines could be affected by detours because of planned holiday events. Check the agency's service advisories page to learn more.
