AMC Plans To Launch A New 'Foodies' Comedy Set In L.A.
From poke fries to crickets, we take our food trends pretty seriously in L.A., but a new comedy in the works from AMC might just help to lighten the intensity of foodie culture. The cable network that delivered big with Breaking Bad and Mad Men is currently developing Foodies, a half-hour comedy set in the 'fast-paced culinary world' of Los Angeles. The show will focus on a group of obsessive foodies who go to great lengths to indulge in their favorite pastime, according to Deadline Hollywood. Sound familiar? While no dates for the show have been released yet, it is set to be written by Duncan Birmingham and executive produced by Michael London.
As it turns out, Foodies is not AMC's only foray into the world of food. Earlier this year it was announced that the network is developing a "fast-food period comedy" tentatively titled Fast Boys. That show is expected to explore how the fast food industry developed in San Bernardino after World War II.
