Fire Blazes Through Toluca Lake Pumpkin Patch

A fire blazed through a Toluca Lake pumpkin patch on Monday afternoon, causing some damage to the pumpkin patch and adjoining maze. The pumpkins, however, emerged relatively unscathed, and the patch reopened for business later in the day. An employee told LAist over the phone that the pumpkin patch would be open until 9 p.m. tonight, as per usual. There were no reported injuries.
The blaze, which was first reported at 1:55 p.m and fully extinguished by 2:20 p.m., occurred at Cahuenga Boulevard and Riverside, near the eastbound 101 off-ramp at Cahuenga. The off-ramp was briefly closed as 31 firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze. Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson Amy Bastman told LAist that the cause of the fire was not yet known.
