Couple's 'Halloween' Proposal, 'Back To The Future' Engagement Photo Are Amazing
A Los Angeles man decided to propose to his girlfriend in the the most romantic way possible: by pretending to be fictional serial killer Michael Myers. And if you think that's wild, wait until you see their Back to the Future engagement photo.
Alec Wells and Katherine Canipe are a Los Angeles couple. Canipe, who cohosts the Boys and Ghouls podcast, is a huge horror fan. So, when Wells decided to propose to her, he chose to do it in a pretty special way that nodded to her favorite horror film, John Carpenter's Halloween.
"It seemed only natural—given that we live so close to the original filming locations—that her proposal come from Michael Myers himself!" Wells told the Daily Mail.

The 1978 film is set in Haddonfield, Ill., but was actually filmed in South Pasadena. So, while Canipe was touring Halloween filming locations, Wells dressed up like the film's iconic serial killer and hid behind the same hedge that Myers pops out from while stalking the film's protagonist, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis). As Canipe approaches (appropriately mimicking a Haddonfield senior), Wells emerges, startling Canipe. But instead of mysteriously vanishing by the time Canipe reaches the hedge like Myers did, he takes a knee. Naysayers may accuse the video of being staged, but we still think it's one heck of a proposal.
While the proposal happened on October 25 of last year, the couple is just sharing the proposal video now. According to Metro, they plan to marry on November 13, 2015. Yes, that's a Friday.
And in addition to having one of the coolest proposals, they also took an amazingly geeky engagement photo taken by L.A. photographer Ricky Middlesworth that pays tribute to a favorite film of Wells': Back to the Future.
