Enjoy Winter L.A.-Style With A New Beach-Themed Ice Cream Shop
What better way to rejoice in this awesome weather whilst the East Coast continues to freeze over than with a scoop of ice cream at a coastal-inspired creamery? Enter Beach House Creamery, new-but-nostalgic ice cream shop serving Bel Air starting tomorrow, with another shop on the way to Abbot Kinney in March.
Their first storefront located on Roscomare has a decidedly SoCal vibe, with surfboards and vintage beach memorabilia throughout. They've also plucked some super cool ice cream scoops and artwork from a flea market, giving the space a cutesy throwback vibe.
To kick off opening weekend, Beach House will have an ice cream truck parked in front of their upcoming Venice store tomorrow to celebrate the official launch, offering all-natural, small batch ice cream and sorbets in simple, classic flavors that play on the idea of "California Dreamin." Flavors from the opening menu include Mint Chocolate Wave, Coconut Pipelime Sorbet, and Mandarin Sunset Sherbet, each of which can be served up in house-made gluten-free waffle cones.
You can also add a variety of toppings for sundaes like hot fudge, nut brittle, and chocolate "rip curls" or chocolate shavings. And there will of course be shakes and a variety of dreamsicles, a personal favorite ice cream truck treat from back in the day.
Any top-notch creamery wouldn't be complete without some good coffee to curb the sugar coma, so Beach House has tapped Sightglass for their roasts. In addition to traditional coffees and lattes, they'll be serving up "High Tides," which are a beachy twist on an affogatto.
We couldn't think of a better way to celebrate SoCal.
