The weekend is so close you can practically taste it. Here are the edible events going on in the next few days to keep you occupied—and sated, for that matter.

Santa Monica Pub Crawl: If you're really into showing your Christmas spirit alongside throngs of decked out Santas and drunken elves, head on over to the 6th annual SANTA Monica Pub Crawl on Saturday. The crowd will head to some of Santa Monica's best restaurants and bars for food and drink specials, and holiday antics that likely might have you getting lump of coal from the North Pole. To participate, you need to sign up online by paying a $12 participation fee, which'll get you a wristband and access to any of the four different routes through the city. Part of the proceeds go to the Westside Food Bank, so you can feel even better about getting into the spirit of giving this season. You can find out more info here.

Last Hoorahs At Cat & Fiddle: The Iconic Hollywood pub announced earlier this year that it would be shutting down in December to make way for a new tenant who's offered to pay the landlord twice as much. The bar has been around for 32 years, and will officially close on Monday, December 15. So get your last hurrahs this weekend while you can. You can find out more info here.

Holiday Cocktailing at 1886: One of our favorite cocktail bars in L.A. is offering up some super festive drinks that toast the holiday season, like spiked egg nog, huckleberry sours, and apple pie hot toddy. The drink that sounds the most interesting in the mix is the latter, which is made by combining pie crust-infused rye (you know how much we love pie) and mixing it with lemon and brown sugar, then topping it with a green apple foam. Sounds like a great way to ward off the storm to me. You can find out more info here.

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Our only loyalty is to our audiences and our mission: to inform, engage, and strengthen our community.

Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive from readers like you will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
