Float Over Los Angeles In This Amazing Quadcopter Video
A videographer equipped with a quadcopter and a GoPro captured breathtaking footage of the city from a raging rooftop party in Hollywood to the Silver Lake Reservoir.
Los Angeles is a city that we're used to seeing from above in aerial shots captured by helicopters in high-speed chases or in the establishing shots of movies and TV shows that take place here. But this video is different. The quadcopter doesn't get nearly as high as a regular chopper, so the shots feel much more intimate and dramatic. The druggy Tame Impala soundtrack only heightens the sensation that you're flying over the city and seeing it in a completely new way. (It reminds us a little bit of Spike Lee's famous, floaty dolly shots.)
The videographer Clay Folden captures a 360-degree view of a sunset, a Hollywood rooftop party at Drais on the Cinco de Mayo, the Silver Lake Reservoir and the Capitol Records building.
Since we're not well-versed in the nuances of FAA regulation on unmanned aircrafts, we're not sure just how legal this is. But it sure looks cool.
