Photos: CicLAvia Takes Over Wilshire Boulevard
Today was a sunny, beautiful day for CicLAvia to take over Wilshire from Downtown to Macarthur Park, Koreatown, Hancock Park and the Miracle Mile. This was a geographically short CicLAvia but temporally it was the longest. This time there was a big effort to make the event about more than bikers. WalkLAvia was out in full force, and there were stations along the way for Angelenos to try yoga or tae kwon do or watch local performers. There were food trucks as always, and this year's event happened to coincide with the annual, delicious Korean BBQ cook-off.
LA Observed did a guide to Wilshire Boulevard that's worth a look even if you missed CicLAvia today. The blog's editor Kevin Roderick is the author of those historical signs that dot the street, and he literally wrote the book on Wilshire Boulevard.
