2013 AVN Awards: Red Carpet Photos (SFW)
The 2013 AVN Awards took place earlier this month inside The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Regarded as the Oscars of the adult industry, this year's edition, which also marked the show's 30th anniversary, featured co-hosts Jesse Jane and Asa Akira, as well as mainstream comedian April Macie and live musical performances by Tyga, who had earned three AVN Award nominations including Best Music Soundtrack for "Rack City XXX."
With 142 nominations spread across five categories including two special honorary awards, the awards show, taped for eventual broadcast by Showtime, only announced about 21 winners live, with the rest presented afterwards via a video scroll. We had anticipated that Elegant Angel's "Wasteland" would win many of the feature categories (including the AVN Award equivalent to the Cannes Film Festival's Palme d'Or), and that Vivid Entertainment's "Star Wars XXX: A Porn Parody," London Gunn/Miko Lee/Wicked Pictures' "Spartacus MMXII: The Beginning," and New Sensations' "Torn" would win in the parody and couples categories, and we were right. Ditto for Remy LaCroix and Ms. Akira, who won Best New Starlet and Female Performer of the Year, respectively, and James Deen, who won Male Performer of the Year and (who tied with Sunny Leone for) Crossover Star of the Year. And yes, Nadia "Octomom" Sulemon won Best Celebrity Sex Tape. As for Clever Title of the Year? It went to Vouyer Media's "Does This Dick Make My Ass Look Big?"
