Video: Former Gay Porn Star Says The Devil Loves Anal Sex

One year ago, Congress defunded public media. Now that we're 100% community funded, please become a sustaining member or increase your existing membership today.

A former gay porn star released a bewildering video describing the occult connection between the devil and anal sex. Actually he released several, but we've posted the one that's been making the rounds today.

Joseph Sciambra is a Christian who used to perform in gay porn up until 1999, according to the video above. In a bio on his blog detailing his views against porn, Sciambra talks about being raised Catholic in Northern California and later visiting the Castro in San Francisco to explore his sexuality. He said he slept with female prostitutes as well as men before he got interested in gay porn. He said he also got very interested in the occult, which is the subject of the video.

Sciambra gives a long list of reasons that anal sex is terrible. He even claims that he had to have his sphincter sewn shut at one point. But mostly he's focused on anal sex's connection to the devil: "I do believe that it creates a doorway literally into the demonic into the supernatural [...] I think it does release demonic entities."

He cites occultist Aleister Crowley in his theory, saying that in Crowley's view the "devil that would be given birth to anally—not physically more of a spiritual body."

Sciambra refuses to be called an "ex-gay" and told one commenter on his site: "I rebuke that name that has been forced upon many of us."
