Jeanie Daniels of Burbank was on her way from Los Angeles to Houston February 26 to see her boyfriend, Jimmy Hauser, according to CBS2. She was on a Southwest Airlines flight, and used her time aboard to pretty herself up and paint her nails. So how did Daniels end up spending 10 hours in police custody?
A flight attendant told Daniels to stop painting her nails because of the smell, according to MSNBC. Daniels complied, but opted to finish up the last two nails in the airplane restroom.
But when she emerged, another flight attendant confronted Daniels.
From MSNBC:
"She was getting so loud, while I was sitting in my seat, and I was just like, 'Will you stop!' And I was loud when I said, 'Stop bitching at me,' because she wouldn't end the conversation," Daniels said.
That was Daniels' bad move: When Flight 1536 arrived in Houston, Daniels was detained by local police.
Daniels was charged with using "abusive profane language" reports KTLA. After 10 hours in the slammer, a judge dismissed the charges.
Here's what Southwest had to say:
"The customer in question was taken into custody upon arrival in Houston for behavior she displayed while onboard a flight. The airport police became involved because of the passenger's behavior and a verbal altercation with a Southwest Airlines crew member. Southwest Airlines is responsible for the safety of all of our passengers and employees."
It's always best not to piss off a Southwest employee, based on recent headline-making incidents, like in September, when "L-Word" star Leisha Hailey and her girlfriend got kicked off their flight after a verbal scuffle that followed a flight attendant asking the couple to stop kissing. Southwest has also kicked off Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong for wearing baggy pants, and Kevin Smith for taking up too much space in his seat.
