Santa Monica 2011 Homeless Count To Be Revealed
On Monday February 28 the findings from Santa Monica's 2011 city-wide homeless count will be presented to the public from 7-9:00 p.m. during the Social Services Commission meeting held in the East Wing of the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium.
150 volunteers fanned out across the city to conduct the survey and collect critical data "used to identify our homeless population; leverage federal, state and local resources; and quantify the effects of our policies and program," notes the City of Santa Monica website. According to a press release, "The presentation will include the overall count results, a brief analysis of key findings as compared to the 2010 results, comments from key stakeholders, and opportunities for the community to provide their feedback on the results." Full action plan available here.
