Pleased or displeased about plans to make improvements to the 710 Freeway corridor? The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) announced plans today to take advantage of the broad reach of social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook to get people connected to conversations about their proposed plans.
Called the "SR-710 Conversations" digital program, Metro will use their website, webcasts, interactive virtual meetings, and social media to get maximum public involvement in the18 public meetings that are planned between now and spring 2011.
Those meetings are aimed at engaging the public on what, if any, improvements may help relieve congestion in the SR-710 corridor. People who can't make it to the meetings in person will be able to keep up online through photos and other multimedia reports of comments received in the dialogue sessions in real-time.
Webcast schedule: February 24 (6-8 p.m.), February 26 (2-4 p.m.), March 3 (6-8 p.m.), and March 8 (6-8 p.m.).
