Everything is Free at One L.A. Shop Popping Up On Saturday

price-tag-free.jpg There's one unique store in Los Angeles where everything is free. Seriously. Absolutely free. The LA Free Store is a pop-up event where people can come together to give, take, share, swap, and learn.

"In essence," explains the LA Free Store, their goal is "to build community and to provide an alternative to mainstream capitalism. This requires Volunteerism. Friendships. Swapping. Donations. Giving. Sharing. And lots of smiles!" So, yes, you can, in fact, trade a goofy grin for a sweater, some records, or a bag full of just-picked garden veggies.

You can also donate items or services, or just your time. When it comes to services, you can either provide them at the event (haircuts, bike repairs, herb gardening, and so on) or leave coupons, or just swap contact info with people you meet.

The first LA Free Store is popping up on Saturday, November 13th in Eagle Rock outside of the Casa Princessa Cafe. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. drop by--or swap by--to get some goods, services, and smiles. They'll have someone on hand to help you learn how to play guitar, speak Spanish, or raise chickens in your backyard. Check them out on Facebook to keep up-to-date with their events, and make sure to read their how-to list before showing up with your little red wagon.
