Snow Hits Mammoth as Slopes Gear Up to Open This Week

What were dreary overnight rainstorms down here in Los Angeles meant snowfall up at Mammoth, where the popular ski and snowboard resort got a good pre-season dumping, reports the OC Register.
Mammoth Mountain opens up on the 11th, though as the above video shows, some locals couldn't hold back. "For the opening weekend, they plan to have four lifts open: Broadway Express, Face Lift Express, Thunder Bound Express and Discovery Chair." Other area ski destinations, like Big Bear and Snow Summit, open on Thanksgiving.
