The LAPD is Buying 10,000 Jetpacks, Reports FOX News Show in Erroneous Report
Well, if the rain has you down, maybe this video will make you laugh. The Fox News Channel show "Fox & Friends" yesterday reported that "the city of Los Angeles already ordered 10,000 jetpacks for its police, paramedics and fire department." At $100,000 each, that's one billion (what budget crisis!?)
Too bad this story is totally false, courtesy of tabloid Weekly World News.
The LA Times' Andrew Blankstein pieced together what happened, beginning with Gawker's initial report to the Mediaite recap. All around, hilarious stuff.
