Hey Westside, 20 Months of Traffic Hell Begins Tonight
When the bridge is completely closed, drivers going eastbound can use Barrington or Kenter/Bundy to San Vicente to reach Wilshire. Westbound drivers can use either Veteran or Hilgard to Wilshire.
Tonight begins the end of traffic exasperation and the start of traffic hell. Metro and Caltrans are embarking on a major project to bring the Northbound 405 Freeway a carpool lane at the same time retrofitting bridges that cross it up to current standards. The Sunset Boulevard bridge begins tonight.
Tonight all lanes on Sunset between Gunston to Thurston weill be closed for restriping from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. On- and off-ramps around Sunset will also be closed, some of them starting at 7 p.m.
