The tradition continues this week, as Gabor once again is seeing that the center receive turkeys for Thanksgiving. Today she and her husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt, will be receiving "a plaque from the Mayor's Office for their contributions to the center." von Anhalt has recently been making public proclamations to temper rumors that his wife is near death, although Gabor's publicist could not confirm if Gabor herself would participate in today's events due to the actress' declining health.
The couple have also made headlines of late thanks to financial difficulties stemming from Gabor's loss of "$7 million in the Bernie Madoff financial scandal," and the pair "are also reported to be working out a payment plan with the IRS, which last month filed a $118,000 lien against Gabor for 2001 and 2002." In any case, the turkeys will still be donated to the center in the hopes of helping many others have a happy Thanksgiving.
