A TV Squad writer ruminates on Mrs. Stern's level of "celebrity"--a curious pass-time considering the show's already notorious practice of re-purposing C-list athletes and entertainers:
Using "Beth O" is pushing the envelope in terms of actual "celebrity." I recognize that to have a show called Dancing With The Stars, you need to use actual stars, but it doesn't seem like Beth quite qualifies. But she's more famous than I am, even if it's by marriage; who am I to judge? It's hard to say just yet if anyone will get to judge "Beth O"--at least on her dancing skills. But that won't stop people from re-assessing her actual claim to fame; Mrs. Stern is indeed a hyphenate of many colors: "wife/model/entertainment correspondent/animal activist/trophy" to name a few. Is DWTS what is calling Beth to L.A. "to participate in a televised reality show in some capacity"? The official announcement will come Monday, August 17th (that's this Monday, fans!) on Good Morning America.

"Hoofer' ha ha. Guess we'll hear today whether it's a yea or neigh.
