Reward for USC Hit & Run Upped Again, Now $235K
An anonymous donor has given $100,000 to the reward pot for last Sunday' fatal hit-and-run near USC, according to the LA Times.
The accident happened early Sunday morning, as Adrianna Bachan, 19, and Marcus Garfinkle, 18, were walking across Jefferson at Hoover on their way home from a frat party and were struck by a driver who ran a red light.
"According to a witness, the driver stopped the vehicle and a passenger got out of the vehicle to remove [Garfinkle] from the hood onto the ground," the LAPD said in a statement. "The passenger was described as a male Hispanic. The passenger got back into the suspect car and the driver drove eastbound on Jefferson Boulevard." Bachan died at the hospital and Garfinkle was listed in stable condition.
This is the third time the award's value has risen--yesterday it increased to $135,000 after the Los Angeles City Council approved $75,000. USC and LA County already put together $60,000.
