The Last Griffith Park Sunset Hike of 2008

Councilmember Tom LaBonge, who represents Griffith Park, loves loves loves to hike and be in what he calls the greatest park in the world. Often, he holds hikes with residents and tomorrow is no exception. "All cultures of the world celebrate the new year, and in Los Angeles we like to mark this day by hiking to one of the greatest vistas in Southern California with people representing the many cultures who've made their home in our great City of the Angels," LaBonge said in a release advertising the hike.
The afternoon hike will be a gentle 1.5 mils that will culminate at the summit of Mount Hollywood. The two hour event starts at 3:30 p.m.
PARKING: Park at north end of Griffith Observatory parking lot or just below on West Observatory Road. Shuttles will be available for those who need transportation.
