Gear up for a series of holiday-themed comedy shows and benefit events in the coming weeks. Luckily, there are also plenty of heathen shows for us ne’er-do-wells to give our money to for no good cause. And if you’ve got one you’d like to see here, email Farley or leave it in the comments below. And don’t forget to tag those big ol’ Flickr photos in the LAist Featured Photo Pool with ‘lastlaugh’ so we can slap them up here each week.
TUESDAY 12/9
Turbocharged, 8p Comedy Central Stage. The unauthorized story of 80’s band The Cars, but on film and narrated by an animated snowman. Film features Dave Attell.
Kathy Griffin, 9p Kodak Theatre. It’s like TMZ, but funny. And roughly the same amount of crotch shots.
WEDNESDAY 12/10
No on H8!, 8p Largo. Margaret Cho and others team up to do some comedy for a cause.
Mortified, 8p King King. Incredibly true tales of youthful angst, straight out of the diary. This show is a must-see.
THURSDAY 12/11
Doug Benson Interruption, 9:30p UCB. Hilarious Doug Benson brings along some stand up greats to help him fuck with classic clips from holiday film favorites.
Nick Thune, 8p Comedy & Magic Club. Awesome comedy from the always hilarious Nick Thune.
FRIDAY 12/12
People You’ll Like Show, 9p Spring Street Smoke House. FREE stand up. If the namesake lies to you, at least you didn’t pay to get in.
The Friday Forty, 10p iO. The awesome pop-culture game show that has contestants drink 40's and answer 40 questions on the week that was. Thanks to gimplonius for the heads up.
SATURDAY 12/13
Sketch Cram, Midnight UCB. One day to write, rehearse and perform a full sketch show. This show is a UCB staple.
Bring a Gift, Get a Ticket, 11:30p The Improv. Phil Varone will let you in for free if you bring an unwrapped gift for the Clear View Treatment Center.
Jim Norton, 7:30p The Viper Room. Stand up by Jersey comic Jim Norton, with opener Jim Florentine. There's a late show at 9:30 that is sure to be a little spicier.
SUNDAY 12/14
The Burning Momologues, 7:30p Largo. Not a show about STD’s, apparently, but with John C. Reilly and the money goes towards Moms Clubs of LA.
Jay Leno, 7p Comedy & Magic Club. He’s there every week, but this night you’ll get to hear him make jokes about moving to the 10p slot on NBC.
A Fantasy Island X-Mas Comedy Show, 7p Ricardo Montalban Theatre. Oswalt, Proops, Benson, Kirkman...Just to name a few of the rocking comics showing up to support dodgeball of all things.

Just a heads up: "Last Call Cleveland" is NOT at the iO on Friday at 10. I believe that was last week. BUT Friday at 10 *is* the Friday Forty, which is a swell current events drinking game in which three contestants down forties whilst answering questions about the previous week presented in sketches and general hilarity... I'd put down the direct link, but that seems poor manners.
I second that one Farley. Mortified rocks! If you haven't seen it yet, don't miss it!
Thanks for the heads up. Updates should be viewable now.
those are some pretty good shows.
But PLEASE include STELLA this saturday
Michael Ian Black
Michael Showalter
David Wain
and special guests
fellow State cast members
Tom Lennon
Joe Lo Trujilo
I think theres still tickets available.
I didn't include Stella because, as far as I know, tickets are sold out, and are going on resell sites for over $100, which is absolutely ridic. But believe me, I'll be at the show. And if you can sneak / stab your way in, you should too.
I just checked ticketmaster and theres still tickets available for the balcony.
I bought mine during presale and managed to get front row!
theres also a funny or die show listed for monday at largo. But no word of who's performing.
