Nick Adler of the Roxy may have been one of first local music venues to venture out into the Twitterverse, but others are quickly following suit. One of them is Scott Sterling, promoter of The Fold in Silver Lake that books shows at the Silverlake Lounge, Tangier, Redwood, El Cid and Bordello.

"I am always looking for ways to spread the word about shows or changes to shows quickly," explained Sterling who has been playing with Twitter for the past couple weeks experimenting with giving Twitter followers freebies. "That's the intrinsic deal, you give me a little access to your cell phone, I'll give you access at the door."

On Tuesday, he gave Twitter followers the first shot to buy tickets to see the International Noise Conspiracy. His most recent offer came earlier this afternoon: "Have tix 4 Neil Young's cancelled show 2night @ the Forum? We will honor them for free admission @ SLL 4 Hackensaw Boys + Robert Francis"
