Yesterday, Chuck Henry of NBC contacted LAist to gather more information regarding the Mandeville Canyon "road rage" incident that landed two cyclists in the hospital. This two minute segment aired last night during the 11:00 p.m. news. CBS/KCAL also aired their own version of the story.

Big deal, get over it. They are still walking and talking so this is overblown.
it was an infinity. not a lexus. get it right KNBC!
What happened to that guys nose makes me want to barf
These guys may be walking and talking, but the next ones may not be.
Have you ever been punched in the nose? It feels like your head exploded - having your nose ripped off of your face is pretty fucking bad.
From what I have heard Karsule's attitude is that of the residents of Mandeville Canyon. Nice place.
Well Karsrule, you better get used to sharing the road. Big oil is putting a lot more people on bicycles , public transit, and foot.
The days of the automobile owning the public by ways is over, so maybe you should get over yourself.
Road rage incidents, with car vs bicycle, or pedestrian?
Considering the size and weight difference it should be considered assault with a deadly weapon, or attempted murder.
After all the driver is angry and is using his/her vehicle as a weapon.

Obviously a joke response to get heated discussion (I mean look at the name posted under), but it is this kind of ignorance that leads to these types of incidents. People don't see the real risk that cyclists are taking by being on the roads because they are sitting in their cars. Until you have ridden a bike down a busy street without a sidewalk you have no business posting on this topic.
pretty sure I caught the tail end of the story on NPR on Monday evening, unless there was another incident in which a driver slammed on his brakes and forced two guys on bikes to slam into his car.
Read it in the LA Times today.
None of these other agencies are mentioning that this guy had a documented similar inncident.. .is that part actually true?
I'm not sure where to get an official reference, but club riders from La Grange reported threatening driving behavior by someone who fit same description and car on the same road a few months ago. I remember hearing about it at the time, but it faded quickly from the spotlight as no one was injured that time. Apparently it takes someones face being slammed through a rear window before cyclists complaints are taken seriously.
The real tragedy here is that the doctor did an inadequate job on this task. He should have killed them - then, problem solved. Lets get more!
Hey Diver43
Do you belong to the Upper Mandeville Association?
Bicyclists have the same right to the road as a person on a motor powered vehicle. But I guess that won't become glaringly apparent until the good emergency room doctor spends the rest of his professional life paying (in dollars mind you) for losing his temper.
I look forward to the court case and fully expect my prediction to come true.
Beware motorists! Share the road; as the law stipulates.
I dont even live on the west side. I just hate cyclists and cheer this development. Sure they have the same rights to the road, but many sometimes act like pedestrians when it suits them, they ignore red lights and stop signs, and slow car traffic. However, anyone stupid enough to travel that fast among cars without protection (ditto motorcyclists) and with so little regard for all the laws all the time should probably be culled anyway. I am just disappointed that these two got away with the ability to breed.
Here is wishing the same (and worse) to all you Mandeville cyclists. Crash and burn.
Shame on you diver43 for wishing ill on anybody! Shame on you big time!
OHHHH. That hurts! Still looking forward to more cyclists getting picked off.
