George Carlin Dies at Age 71

George Carlin dies of heart failure at age 71

Comedian George Carlin died of heart failure at 5:55 p.m. today at Saint John's Hospital in Santa Monica. It was announced a few hours later, shortly before 9 p.m., by his publicist. He was admitted into the hospital for chest pains earlier in the afternoon.

In honor of the comic genius who made millions laugh, loved words and called bullshit when it was needed during his 50-year career on and off stage (he had a few books), here are a few of his most popular videos of him from YouTube, including his famous "seven words you can't say on television" monologue.

so bummed about this.

Well shit, piss, fuck, cunt, cocksucker, motherfucker, and tits. That sucks!

Rest in peace, George.

Wow, of all the high profile deaths lately, this hits the hardest.

I'm shattered

I agree with Ali, Will, and db. Excessive partying and swearing included, George Carlin kept it real like nobody else.

Funniest guy ever.
RIP

Whenever he said "live a little" it always resonated with me.

I ran a red in the middle of Beverly Hills for you tonight, George. RIP

That really sucks. He will be missed.

RIP George.

"How's that science going Justin?
Fuck you dad."

no one knew us better than him.

good man.

"I don't have any beliefs or allegiances. I don't believe in this country, I don't believe in religion, or a god, and I don't believe in all these man-made institutional ideas"

You will be missed, Mr. Carlin.

I think this may be the first time ever in my life where when a celebrity died, I felt sad.

:(

RIP George.

We're all going to miss the laughter you gave us.

he always asked the most profound life altering questions...

why do you drive on a parkway and park on a driveway!?!?!?!?

He also had the balls to say all clergy were money grubbing / non-tax paying / bull-shit artists.

glad he went fast and didnt suffer long
