Eye Nosh: The Best Taquitos in Town
LAist Featured Photos contributor kpeII submits this Eye Nosh photo with a bold statement -- these taquitos from Cielito Lindo on Olvera Street are the best in town. Well, their website certainly boasts it and Yelpers seem to agree.
A couple years ago, LAist asked readers where to eat and a handful of commenters brought up Lindo. Even Pulitzer Prize winning LA Weekly foodie Jonathan Gold had something to say, even though it was about another restaurant:
La Luz del Dia, the cafeteria-style restaurant at the plaza end of the street, is one of the treasures of Los Angeles Mexican cooking, serving the kind of carnitas, hand-made tortillas, champurrado, stewed pigskin and fresh cactus salads that I suspect locals ate in this neighborhood 150 years ago.
Speaking of La Luz' champurrado, a type of atole, which is a hot drink popular in the winter, contributor Elise Thompson reviewed it in January.
