The anticipated LA MILL COFFEE boutique opened this morning in Silver Lake on its eponymous boulevard between Sunset and the Reservoir (they close at 6 p.m. tonight and are only serving bar drinks and clovers until then). Eater LA takes in the decor: "Custom-made French wallpaper, faux crocodile, ostrich and sharkskin chairs in dark teal, sky blue and red, black Lucite tables. A dramatic brass chandelier hangs in the main room." Definitely not a place safe for vegans. Actually, the menu isn't either.

There may be table service, but there's very little for vegetarian foodies here except the Kentucky goat cheese panini with black olive tapenade, sweet red onion,compote of tomato and basil leaves for $14. At $12, there are two soups to choose from: a potato leek with Manila clams and applewood smoked bacon and a squash soup prepared with coffee and creme fresh. Egg lovers can delve into vegetarian hen eggs cooked in earthenware with house made brioche.

And since this is a coffee hot spot, one of their signature beverages is the coffee and a cigarette (it has tobacco infused whip cream) or the donut infused milk item -- coffee and a jelly donut (both run at $5). As for tea, try the Masala Chai (masala, current, spices, milk and sugar) at $6. The menu also has salads, desserts and the basic coffee shop pastries.

Did we forget to mention that you can get a dozen of dog biscuits for $5?

These coffee obsessed masters must know what they are doing, they even have a mission statement. And remember, it's a "boutique."
