All Night Subway/Light Rail Service New Year's Eve
Earlier this month, Metro announced the usual free rides on Christmas and New Year's Eve special that they do every year. Tonight, we received a short and brief, but extremely exciting e-mail:
"On New Year's Eve Monday, December 31 (into Tuesday, January 1), all Metro Rail lines will run all night, every 20 minutes."
Yes, that's all it said. No further details were mentioned (we're sure they are forthcoming, we are curious what "all night" really means), but it's enough of a holiday present to Los Angeles to make many rejoice. So rejoice and take advantage!

Now the big question is.... WHERE TO DRINK?!?!?!

They first mentioned it in relation to the Rose Parade (it's buried in at least one news release by Metro, this one for sure: http://www.metro.net/news_info/press/metro_223.htm ) as a way to get to and from the parade for New Years, so it really should be all night, presumably every 20 minutes starting from the normal end of service until the normal beginning of service.

This is great - just wish they did it more often or changed it up to 3am.

Yeah, if it stayed open til 3am at least, that might help with increasing riders.
As for where to drink, stay tuned, we won;t let you down!
