LAist Outgoing Editor's 25 Favorite CDs of 2007

Truth matters. Community matters. Your support makes both possible. LAist is one of the few places where news remains independent and free from political and corporate influence. Stand up for truth and for LAist. Make your year-end tax-deductible gift now.

Last year we did a lot of Best Of lists, and this year we are on a roll to eclipse the quantity and quality of last year.

One thing I have noticed is there seems to be two ways to do a Best Of list. You can do a politically correct one for the hipsters and cynics - which is boring and a lie. Or you can keep it real and talk about how much you played the Avril Lavigne for months after it came out.

Obviously there's a third option where you can mix in your guilty pleasures with what the super kool kids wanna see coughRadiohead but then your list is tainted, and if there's one place that should remain holy this sacred time of year it's the Best Of List on a blawwwwg.

So hipsters, cynics, haters, fakers, and poseurs, here's my Top 10 list of best CDs that came out this year and after the jump my real list.
