This Week in Theatre
The best of LA’s theatre scene is celebrated with the 2007 LA Stage Alliance’s Ovation Awards on Monday night at the Orpheum Theater downtown. The ceremony honor Annette Bening and will be hosted by Neil—wait for it—Patrick Harris (fans of How I Met Your Mother might appreciate that one). Tickets ($40, $80 and $150) to the show are available to the general public.

The History Boys
Boys will be boys. In this play eight boys are guided by two teachers with very different styles.

Tragic Bitches
Two gay Chicanos and one lesbian Xicana explore themes of family unity and disunity, ethnic bonds and bondage…and life in general. The play is presented in a mix of English and Spanish.

Francisco's Fire
Francisco is a Latino immigrant who works a low-paying hotel job in Hollywood. He's barely making enough to support his girlfriend and kid and his boss exploits him. Francisco finally snaps when a visiting celeb seduces his girlfriend. This play is based on Georg Buchner's "Woyzeck" about 19th century working class Germans.
