Last night Jeff Tweedy and the boys of Wilco performed a stellar two hour long set at the Greek. Since I had a wall pass, I had the pleasure of people watching and I must say that Wilco fans are happy folk. Singing along and even dancing at times, the fans were enraptured by the incredible musicianship.
The bashful yet charismastic Jeff Tweedy led the crowd through a set comprised of half Sky Blue Sky and half oldies, sporadically conversing directly with members of the audience. Tweedy was entirely personable and I think I might have a man crush on him. Nels Cline nearly blew my face off with his impeccable, wailing solos, prompting me to turn to my friend and whisper: "That guy is way too good".
Highlights included: "Jesus, Etc.", "I'm The Man Who Loves You", "Heavy Metal Drummer", "Walken, "Impossible Germany", "Shake It Off", and "I Am Trying To Break Your Heart".
Oh and it wasn't me with the lighter during "Jesus, Etc". I swear. I know better than to show up in that neck of the woods with anything remotely flammable.

You said man crush. Josh you're awesome.
I just got back from Jay Leno (whose jokes are staler than year-old bread. baaa-zing.) and Wilco was the musical quest, playing Either Way.
Oh, and George Michael Bluth was there too.
I'm so bummed I didn't get to go last night, but that video is great. I will always remember seeing Wilco at Lollapalooza in 2006 and hearing Jesus Etc. as the sun set under the Chicago skyline.
It was a great show. Nels Cline really was the hero of the night, and I was impressed that Tweedy kicks back and lets Nels take so much of the spotlight.
Saw them up at the Santa Barbara Bowl and they were fantastic. This may sound like a strange adjective to use here but I would call their musicianship as of late "muscular".
