James Marshall aka DALEK Gallery Opening 08/04/07
James Marshall isn't dropping the name DALEK, he says, "This just didn't feel like a DALEK kinda thing." Whatever kinda thing it is, LAist thinks it's awesome. We stopped by earlier today at the Merry Karnowski Gallery, where he will be exhibiting between August 4th through September 1st.
Marshall told us that he does not have immediate plans for any new gallery showings, so come out while you can. When Marshall isn't painting he enjoys going to the park, or hiking with his two kids. One of whom even comes and paints with him in the studio sometimes.
We tried to shake him up, and ask some funny questions, but he's basically like a rock, and comes back with sensible answers for everything. He thought that the DEA raids were "bogus" and didn't see why alcohol which is much deadlier is legal. He thought that it is sad that Lindsay Lohan is getting in all kinds of trouble, and wished her the best of luck. He even seemed to be understanding that Mayor Villaraigosa had extra marital affaris, saying that "Most men of power have been known to have scandal."
