American Idol: 'Legs' Scarnato Gets the Boot

Here leggy leggy leggy

We have to admit that an hour of the American Idol results show is excessive -- even for LAist. So we skimmed the show and cut straight to the results: Sanjaya Malakar is still safe, and weak Haley Scarnato finally gots the boot.

No surprises there, really. Haley's style is so bland that she makes Hillary Duff look, umm...what's the word we're looking for? Talented.

But what did kind of surprise us was that Sanjaya wasn't even in the bottom three. The other two with Haley were Chris Richardson and Phil Stacey.

We hit the fast-forward button when the show featured like five bajillion minutes of filler with Ryan Seacrest at the Farmer's Market, asking random people what they thought of last night's show. Please, we think we'd rather hear Haley sing again than that crap.

So in case you missed it, here's what else happened on the show (thanks to realitytvworld.com):

Last night was also the first extended hour-long broadcast of Idol 6's resutls show. Fox filled the time with rapper Akon performing "Don't Matter;" having Seacrest schmooze with the judges; having the Top 8 perform "Bailamos;" showing some clips of Cowell's trip to Africa to promote Idol Gives Back; airing a video of J.Lo mentoring the contestants; and sending Seacrest to Los Angeles' Farmer Market to get some "buzz" from fans on Tuesday night's performances. In addition, Seacrest said Idol has already received "over 5,000 entries" for Idol 6's songwriting competition.
Next Tuesday is country music week. And we can't wait to see what Sanjaya and company have in store for us.

bro sang his song half in spanish - for that reason alone he shouldnt have made the bottom three

did he deserve to have made it this far, of course not, but singing en espanol was perfecto.

www.mediacurves.com called the losers using some scientific method. got the bottom 3 (except for sanjaya who wins because of howard stern)
