Bonnaroo 2007 Lineups Announced

happy dude at bonnaroo Just because SXSW and Coachella get a lot of love from LAist (because we seem to think that the between the local fest and the one in Austin most of your rockfest needs are met) doesn't mean that we aren't impressed with the gaggle of bands who have been wooed by the farmlands of Tennessee.

Bonnaroo is a four-day festival held in the middle of June in Manchester, TN. It's sorta the east-of-the-Mississsippi version of Coachella leaning a little more towards the jam bands than the shoegazers. The fact that the Jesus and Mary Chain will be at Coachella and Widespread Panic will be at Bonnaroo, for example, are not a surprise. The fact that Bonnaroo nabbed The Police is also not that surprising since Live Nation is behind their world tour.

Likewise, the detail that Gogol Bordello will be at both fests is a simple acknowledgment that both Goldenvoice and Live Nation have excellent taste in gypsy punk.

After the jump behold the sweet lineup that was announced today, including some of our faves in bold.
