Complete autonomy and lavish spending? We take a look at the latest details on the findings from the University of California audits.

New details out today about lavish spending habits at Janet Napolitano's office.

Specifics from the audit show thousands of dollars went to parties, extra-fat staff salaries and gifts. Perks that aren't typical in the public sector.

It's part of a larger investigation into the UC system that's been going on since late April.  It's led to subpoenas, hearings and even a proposed new law.

Melody Gutierrez has been writing about all this for the San Francisco Chronicle. She joined A Martinez to break down why the UC board of regents is autonomous, the latest findings in the audit and what comes next.
