The holiday season can be a stressful time for any family.
For some, it's figuring out how to split time between in-laws. For others, it's deciding to make the trek to be with family members who are far away.
But for step-families, navigating the holidays can get particularly complicated.
Search through the online marketplace Etsy and you'll find an entire section dedicated to gifts for step-parents and kids — things like a mug that says "Of all the evil stepmothers in the world, I'm glad I got you." Or a keychain that reads "DNA doesn't make you family. Love does."
Presents like these come as little surprise considering that, according to the Stepfamily Foundation, 50 percent of kids under the age of 13 live with one biological parent and their parent's current partner.
