There’s a movement in California to push school start times to 8:30, currently most schools start usually closer to 8. 

Advocates say starting later can improve a student's academic performance. They also claim it's safer - less accidents getting school during the height of the morning rush.

Now the Rand Corporation has a report out that says pushing the first bell back can have a big economic benefit.
