Today, FIFA is holding elections in Zurich to elect its next president
Officials open ballot boxes as vote counting got underway following the vote to decide on the FIFA presidency in Zurich on May 29, 2015.   Sepp Blatter, 79, is being challenged by Prince Ali bin al Hussein, a FIFA vice president. The prince, strongly backed by Europe's football powers, has campaigned on the need for change at the top of the scandal-tainted body. Today, FIFA is holding elections in Zurich to elect its next president

Sepp Blatter won a fifth term in office as FIFA president after challenger Prince Ali bin al-Hussein of Jordan conceded defeat. This after several members of soccer's governing body were indicted for bribery and a criminal investigation was launched looking into the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
