Although there's no link between SoCal's late-season storm and El Niño, there are signs that El Niño has strengthen since it was first identified in March.

Los Angeles got some heavy rain yesterday. Drains and gutters were overwhelmed by the volume of the downpour. 

Restaurants and boutiques in the Fairfax District even saw some flooding due to backed up drains. But is the rain likely to continue? Mike Halpert, deputy director of NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center, joined the show for more.
